Beard Papa’s Cream Puff

Food, Recipes, Resto, Home

Yay! For so long I haven’t had a cream puff from Beard Papa’s. I missed the super soft pastry with oozing vanilla filling that’s just the right sweetness… I liked it because it’s not too sweet.

Beard Papa's Cream Puff I remember eating one and having my baby chow chow Joshua eat the rest because he loves the vanilla filling too. It’s kinda messy because of the oozing filling so I let my pet dog finish up my cream puff. :) Even hubby loves it too. Whenever I eat out at Ayala Mall in Makati, I buy something to take home to my family (including parents, hubby, and Josh). So once in awhile, one of my “PASALUBONGS” (Filipino term for gifts you bring home from somewhere), would be Beard Papa’s Cream Puff. Hubby and Joshua love it the most. Hehe.

I was “ULTRA-delighted” to find this gorgeous gift idea - from Gayle’s Chocolates! Really!!! I was that excited to post about it in my blog even if I’m supposed to be NOT blogging and working MAO before I go on vacation! But anyway, if you are looking for the perfect gift for the shoe and chocolate lover - you may want to get her something like this.

Christmas Gift Ideas: Straw Hamper Totes

Current Events, Food, Recipes, Resto, Home, Shopping Guide

Since Christmas is just around the corner, it is only appropriate to post Christmas gift ideas each day before the big day (which is also my Birthday). :) Also, I’ve thought of adding a countdown widget to my website but perhaps just a big number on each post each day until Christmas, will do :) So here, it’s 13 days to go before Christmas, and if you haven’t completed your Holiday shopping, I’ll be sharing a good idea to give to your Aunts and Uncles, especially your fave ones. Hehe!

Asian Salad ala Fashion Juice

Food, Recipes, Resto, Home

Hehe… I know the title is a bit funny but the reason why I had to include the “ala Fashion Juice” is because this is not your typical Asian Salad.

Asian Salad ala Fashion Juice I didn’t want to complicate my Asian Salad that much. However, for the past few days, I have been craving for Asian Salad. So the other day, I made some with just the simplest ingredients that we have in our kitchen. Also, I’ve omitted the Grilled Chicken Strips since I was a bit lazy that time to make some. Hehe. Anyway, here’s how to make the Asian Salad ala Fashion Juice. :) Super easy!

Philippine Restaurants I Love

Food, Recipes, Resto, Home, Philippines

Since feeling Nostalgic because of the upcoming Christmas, I decided to feature some of the Philippine Restaurants that I love. I know this could be a very long post. Haha! I’ll list down everything I remember, and hopefully give you a link to their website (if there’s any), oh and just a couple of descriptions too. Also, note that some of those that I’ll be posting may or may not be closed already or have moved somewhere without my knowledge. Also, this list includes all the Philippine Restos (that I can remember) that I have tried and those that I haven’t tried but have been longing to try (only if I’m home, awww). Anyway, here they are in no particular order. :)

Christmas Decors from Designer Blooms

Current Events, Food, Recipes, Resto, Home, Philippines, Travel

I previously mentioned in my other post about Rajo Laurel and on how his blog has made me miss a lot of things from Manila. You’re right. As the title implies, this post is about missing Christmas and holiday decors in the Philippines. :)

Christmas Decors from Designer Blooms There are so many things to miss about Christmas in the Philippines and one of them is probably decorating the house for Christmas. But before I start talking about my Designer Blooms Christmas Decors splurge, I’d like to share all the things (that I remember) I miss in the Philippines during the holidays first. Those who don’t know or haven’t been in the Philippines maybe surprised that there are a lot of things going on in my beloved country. This also serves as a refresher to my fellow Filipinos who haven’t been in the country for so many years. :) This list is in no order. I just type in what I remember.

Non-Traditional, Traditional Thanksgiving

Current Events, Food, Recipes, Resto, Home

Thanksgiving is a yearly tradition that Americans celebrate every November. It was in 1621 that the first American Thanksgiving was celebrated to commemorate the harvest reaped by the Plymouth Colony after a harsh winter. After that, the other colonies started celebrating Thanksgiving after fall harvests. Back then however, the thirteen colonies did not celebrate Thanksgiving at the same time up until October of year 1777. It was George Washington who declared it a Holiday back in 1789. In 1863, Abraham Lincoln declared the last Thursday of November a day of Thanksgiving to unite the nation. From 1939 to 1941, Franklin D. Roosevelt wanted to lengthen the Christmas shopping season so he proclaimed the third Thursday in November as Thanksgiving Day. After that, Congress passed a joint resolution that Thanksgiving should be celebrated on the fourth Thursday of November where it remains to date. Now that we’re done with a bit of history, let me share with you our Thanksgiving dinner the non-traditional, traditional way.

OrangeCup: Best Frozen Yoghurt

Food, Recipes, Resto, Home

I forgot to tell you all about it until now. While going around NorthPark Center, we saw this store called OrangeCup. Okay, not exactly…

OrangeCup: Best Frozen YoghurtLet me rewind that. I was trying on stuff at American Apparel and hubby was waiting outside, drooling over free frozen yoghurt in cups just next to American Apparel. He was patiently waiting for me so we can grab one each. So the moment I got out, he directed me to the free frozen yoghurt cups right away. Hehe! They were so tasty! We got one in natural flavor and one in acai berry. Another classic flavor was the zum. They were so delicious we decided to check out the store. They were even cheap with prices starting at $2.00 (if I’m not mistaken). Let me check it next time we go there. So anyway, check them out in their current locations at NorthPark Mall in Dallas, Texas, and Stonebriar Centre in Frisco, Texas.

Easy to Cook: Blackened Tilapia Fillets

Food, Recipes, Resto, Home

It’s been awhile since I got the chance to feature a recipe that’s why I’m making one now. :) After all, I am trying to limit myself from too much fashion posts because I get the urge to shop while doing it. Haha! I mean come on! If you were me, doing posts about shopping, you get to see all sorts of stuff. And the more options you see, the more you’ll find something that you want. That means - more expense! Anyway, so here, I’m taking a break from all the shopping gaga. I don’t however, want to disappoint my fashion readers. So don’ worry. It’s just like having a coffee or tea break after too much eating (or shopping in this case). After all, ladies have to serve their loved ones, right?
