Black Blazers and Black Tight Pants

Clothing, Fashion Juice Anything, Play Dress Up

Today, we’re seing more of edgier looks in the Fashion World. Leather material, motorcycle jackets, black blazers, boyfriend shirts, boyfriend jeans, rubber leggings, black tight pants or skinny black denims are just a few of the trends rocking Hollywood, the US, and the rest of the fashion world! Not that I’m gothic in style or a rocker slash punk-wannabe, but I’m really loving these trends.

Black Blazers and Black Tight Pants It’s been awhile that Fashion Juice has been looking for great looking rubber leggings. And because I’m not sure of how long the trend will last, I am not going for $88 Members Only liquid leggings but just want the below $20 rubber leggings from Forever 21 or the below $50 ones from American Apparel. I’ve tried the one in American Apparel and I fell in love. I saw the cheapest one at Target, from their Xhilaration label and it was not nice at all. It looks cheap and looks like it’s gonna rip any time. The small was too small for me but the medium was baggy. HAHA! Imagine baggy leggings. Nightmare! So anyway, I decided not to get it anymore because it has already been months and the trend might die on me. So instead, Fashion Juice got black skinny denims and a matching black blazer. I was looking for the cheap Mossimo motorcycle jacket but alas, the ones left were large. :( I should have gotten one when I had the chance. Since I wanted some kind of black tight pants, the skinny denims will do in the absence of rubber leggings. Take a look at the celebrities (and labels) below wearing the “Dark Edgy Trend”.

The Shopping Spree

Accessories, Bags, Budget, Clothing, Play Dress Up, Shoes

Since we got to Texas, all we did was shop for our home. Fortunately, yesterday, we had to go to an Outlet/Mall - not the usual outlets where shops have their own entrance, but a mall with outlet stores inside it. We had to buy additional dishware such as Pyrex. Lucky for me, there’s Neiman Marcus and Saks Fifth discount stores at Grapevine Mills! Truly a blessing. I was so tempted to buy this Forever 21 Birkin knock off but so happy I didnt… because later on, Neiman Marcus Last Call had a Tory Burch bag on sale for just $230! I was about to get it really… but I thought I should check Saks Fifth first. Thank God! When I went to Saks though, they don’t have it there so I told myself, I’ll just get it next time. If it’s still there, it’s meant for me. If not, then it means I should hold my horses and just save for my long awaited dream bag - Chanel… sigh…

Play Dress Up: Black Swing Coat

Chanel, Clothing, Play Dress Up

I was so shocked to discover that my Old Navy swing coat has a very similar yet more expensive look-a-like. I bought my Old Navy swing coat last August/September ‘07 for only $39! I was surprised to see Rachel Bilson (Jumper, The O.C., That 70’s show) wearing something almost exactly like it. I was browsing fabsugar.com when I saw this… So Fashion Juice decided to add a new category to the site… “Play Dress Up”… haha!

Black Swing Coat
Old Navy Swing Coat, $39 vs Mike and Chris Bailey Bubble Dress, $308
Zara Turtleneck, $30 vs J. Crew Cashmere Long-Sleeve Tee, $138
Landmark’s Black Tights, $1 vs Seven Joyce Denim Pants, $158
UGG Chestnut Classic Tall, $150 vs Minnetonka Fringe Boots, $80.95
(didn’t have the Chanel bag though… haha)

Valentine’s Day Dinner Date at Pisces

Current Events, Fashion Juice Anything, Food, Recipes, Resto, Home, Play Dress Up

What: Valentine’s Day Dinner Date
Where: Pisces Seafood Restaurant at Hyatt Regency Hotel
When: Feb. 14, 2008 (duh); reservation at 930 pm

So I was not expecting any special dinner as we were saving up for something big. Imagine my surprise when I discovered we were eating at a hotel. Discovered. I’ve always found out about my hubby’s surprises… On my ’07 bday, hubby and I ate at Bistro 300 Resto also located at Hyatt Regency. We (more of I) thought of eating at Pisces in the future. Based on previous exp, he always managed to take note of those kind of things in his head even if he is “Mr. Forgetful Bob”. So come next special occasion, I already know the surprise. This time though, I was so busy with work and blog and chores that I wasn’t really putting much thought on V-Day (except for what to wear). So I had no idea. But on the day itself, he kept telling me that if we cancel, he’ll be charged $50. So, that’s what made me curious. I thought we were just having dinner at Olive Garden’s, Red Lobster, or something to that effect…
