I know this is not a fashion-related post, but just to help my fellow Filipinos learn how to renew their Philippine passport while they are in the US, I have written a guide for you.
As some of you know, we just got back from vacation in California. One of the reasons we went there was to renew Hubby’s passport. Not mine because my passport is valid for the full extent of its validity period - that’s according to the Philippine Consulate in Los Angeles, CA and also according to the US Consular Affairs. So I’m good until 2011.
Thank Goodness because I want to skip on the passport fees and long wait. Oh by the way, surprisingly, it’s like you’re back home when you’re in the Philippine Embassy. We waited about 5 hours before our number was called. Although according to the people there, it was not usually the case. It just so happened there were so many Filipinos that day. Hmmm…

After a long vacation in California, Fashion Juice is back! It feels good to be home… not that I didn’t have fun or anything because I sure did. But it feels great to be home! I love Texas. No offense to other states, but Hubby and I really enjoy it here in Texas - it has a little bit of everything! It’s peaceful here but it doesn’t lack the nightlife, entertainment, dining, and shopping areas too! Indeed, it has a little bit of everything! No, let me change that - it has a lot of everything. “Everything is big in Texas” - that’s what they say here. When other states started to go on recession, Texas was the booming state. When the housing market started to slump in other states, Texas homes were able to maintain its price range. Texas is so big so it’s not that jam-packed like other states. Still, it is home to the biggest companies in the US, not to mention it houses oil refineries in the country too. Plus, it’s almost complete when it comes to the shopping labels or brands. The only two labels I could think of that aren’t here are Balenciaga and H&M.
When it comes to dining, our city alone is full of choices! We haven’t even tried out everything here. Yet, there are more options to try in Dallas, Austin, San Antonio, and Houston to name a few. Dallas is like LA (West Coast) and NY (East Coast) of the Mid-US! So we are pretty satisfied with where we are right now.
So to anyone curious of what to expect from Texas, why don’t you try visiting our home state some time? Travel to Dallas-Fort Worth, San Antonio, Houston, or Austin among others and you’ll see what we Texans are proud of. Hehe

It’s just four days to go before the Big Christmas Day and before my birthday, of course :). I know I’ve been emphasizing it a lot lately because you might want to send me a gift. Haha! I’m just kidding. But anyway, by now you should have already finished your Holiday shopping because it’s already the week of the most awaited Christmas Day! For some, and probably for most kids, Christmas is that special time of the year that they look forward too. They look forward to not only the presents, but look forward to the festivities and trips or gatherings…

More and more stores are opening in the Philippines… all the more reason to visit the Philippines? Yes of course! If you have a love for fashion, you will surely love it in my home country. And oh, if you think Philippines is just another third world country of some sort, think again. Perhaps you haven’t been to Manila, specifically to Makati, Alabang, Eastwood, and Ortigas just to name a few of the commercial districts. Of course, if its lovely landscapes and seascapes you’re after, the Philippines also have a lot of places to offer. But let me talk about shops for now.

Since feeling Nostalgic because of the upcoming Christmas, I decided to feature some of the Philippine Restaurants that I love. I know this could be a very long post. Haha! I’ll list down everything I remember, and hopefully give you a link to their website (if there’s any), oh and just a couple of descriptions too. Also, note that some of those that I’ll be posting may or may not be closed already or have moved somewhere without my knowledge. Also, this list includes all the Philippine Restos (that I can remember) that I have tried and those that I haven’t tried but have been longing to try (only if I’m home, awww). Anyway, here they are in no particular order.

This is funny actually because just before I started this post, I was writing about Christmas Decors from Designer Blooms. But in that post, I first started with the things I miss the most about Christmas Holidays in the Philippines before I get to designing for Christmas Holidays in particular.
As I was typing away, I noticed how the post got longer and longer without even starting to write about the topic itself. Haha! Perhaps I got all too excited! Thus, I decided to write the things I miss about Christmas Holidays in the Philippines on a separate post. After all, it deserves to have an entry of its own, especially that the list continues to grow as I type to this very moment. Haha. Well, go ahead and click to see the things that I miss about Christmas Holidays in my beloved country, Philippines.

I previously mentioned in my other post about Rajo Laurel and on how his blog has made me miss a lot of things from Manila. You’re right. As the title implies, this post is about missing Christmas and holiday decors in the Philippines.
There are so many things to miss about Christmas in the Philippines and one of them is probably decorating the house for Christmas. But before I start talking about my Designer Blooms Christmas Decors splurge, I’d like to share all the things (that I remember) I miss in the Philippines during the holidays first. Those who don’t know or haven’t been in the Philippines maybe surprised that there are a lot of things going on in my beloved country. This also serves as a refresher to my fellow Filipinos who haven’t been in the country for so many years.
This list is in no order. I just type in what I remember.

I know I’ve been posting a lot of stuff tonight but perhaps that could be a result of deprivation - from not being able to surf or blog much during the day because I am stumped with tons of projects. I am glad however, that I’m able to post a lot tonight because I was able to complete my milestones for the day. Yes, I’m trying to get organized in terms of work. Haha. Well enough about that, let me share with you something about Rajo Laurel.
One of the popular designers in Manila, Philippines, must I say, is Rajo Laurel. I’m actually very lucky to have an outfit designed by him. On the contrary, it’s no outfit that I can ever wear again. Why? Well, just click to find out more!

OMG! I just have to feature this. This is just something a true fashionista would like to go to… a red carpet event where you can flaunt a fabulous Marchesa dress and Louboutin shoes and rub shoulders with the most fashionable and wealthy people in the world as you join in the celebration of an opening night for one of the “Modern Wonders of the World”! If only…
